Have you been to Ambrosia and seen anyone use a scripted device that sends up multiple lines of green chat that say “Halloooo” to every single person in the sim? Now that the venue Is cranking on all cylinders that can include up to 65 people. What happens to a person who uses this device? Why, they get ejected and begin their not so gentle decent into the Ambrosia Ocean where they are devoured by hungry great white sharks. “Why such harsh treament,” they ask. “I was just trying to be friendly”. Because it is the equivalent of walking into a real life dance club with a megaphone and shouting “Hey everyone here i am! I am a very important person please look at me because I am very important!” And in that real life club you would be launched out into a side alley and end up skidding on your face on the pavement.

What is the need anyway to greet everyone with a script individually? As if that is more of a personal experience? Having a programmed script greet people that you don’t even know? Naturally the ass-booted party in question will send instant messages hurling toxic invectives to the staff and of course the management.

This person is a Douchebag.

This is a slang term that refers to a person with a variety of negative qualities, specifically arrogance and engaging in obnoxious and/or irritating actions without malicious intent.

The protest is usually the same. “I did not see a sign that says No Greeters”. So what, douchebag. Do I need to put up big signs that says don’t do one of an infinite number of annoying acts? Just because there is no sign saying “Don’t release toxic fart clouds” does not mean that this activity is allowed. In real life are there signs telling you don’t urinate on people in the middle of a concert? No, of course not. It’s common knowledge that peeing on people you don’t know and even most that you do know will result in you getting the tar beaten out of you as well as a possible night in the slammer.

So how about one rule. Don’t be an annoying douchebag. And since almost everyone is one at one point or another, if people are telling you that you are being a douchebag, then say I am sorry, apologise and cease and desist all douchebag related activity. If it is your intent to continue with your annoying fun then go somewhere else where it is appreciated – In the company of fellow douchebags. Why do you need to protest your rights to be a douchebag at Ambrosia?

The rules for Ambrosia are available on this website. They are quite lengthy and cover a variety of potential offenses which could get you removed. But really they could all be distilled down to one rule. Don’t be a douchebag. If any of your activities negatively impact the experience of others in the club you will be removed for an indefinite period of time. The staff and management decide what a negative impact is.

Let’s all try not to be a douchebags. Simple. Oh and Happy New Year!
