T Town, created by Tya Fallingbridge (who some of us girls know better as the designer of Pixel Mode), is without a shadow of a doubt, my favourite sim in Second Life. It is the single most inspirational, reflective and peaceful place I’ve found.
From the moment you enter it, classical piano music fills your ears and immediately calms you. You can wander through fields of golden wheat, explore the many abandoned shacks littered around the fields, explore the crashed airplane, or simply sit and have a picnic or fish.

T Town is inspired by events in Tya’s real life all bought together in one creative canvas in SL, and represents the beauty that exists in the world, the unlimited creative freedom within Second Life, and how people and music can inspire you.
Take a moment to experience lifes simple pleasures, and give T Town a visit when you’re in need of peace and quiet or listen to Clair Du Lune and look at the pictures of this amazing sim.

Be sure to visit and see if you agree!

The Holidays are so hectic and it’s nice to get away and take a bit of a vacation. Todays’ travels take us to Wyoming. Now Wyoming at this time of year is a bit chilly. It’s much more enjoyable to visit it in the warmer summer months unless you are an avid snowmobiler or ice salesman. But thanks to Second Life we can visit it whenever we please and not have to wear snowshoes.
Enter the sim, cross a lush field of prairie grass and you can almost hear the grasshoppers as you wade through a sea of living prims and arrive at the Old Faithful Lodge in Yellowstone. Out front the most famous geyser in the world belches forth water particles as if on a script. Wait, it is on a script.

Walk into the lodge and be presented with a faithful replica of the actual interior . It’s a little devoid of furniture which is a shame. A few rocking chairs would have been a nice touch to make it more true to the original. They did include a piano however. Perhaps there is a prim shortage.

My favourite part of the Sim is hopping on the train and visiting other parts of Wyoming as well. You can ride with a bunch of friends or be the Engineer and feed coal to the steam engine.

On the other side of the sim I scaled the Devil’s Tower which you might remember from the movie “Close Encounters of the Third Kind“. Richard Dreyfuss made a scale model out of mashed potatoes. Imagine if he had access to Second Life.

I finish off my day in Wyoming with a rodeo show. I have been to rodeos before but I was never a participlant. Just from riding the prim version I don’t believe i ever want to be. I think my hair flew off at the 4 second mark!

This is a beautiful peaceful sim in which to relax, hang out by the Green River and generally chill. The actual name of the sim is Wyoming Entrepreneur and as far as i can make out is an educational sim created under the aegis of the University of Wyoming to support business in Second Life and includes a conference center with a with multimedia presentation. But this in no way detracts from the beauty of the sim as you can see by the photographs. I highly recommend a visit to Wyoming by all Ambrosians.
Here is your ride.

Today’s random map teleport finds us in “Nigeria in Africa” Sim. Upon Landing you find yourself in the middle of colorful flowers under Palm trees with parched earth beneath your feet and a few colorful indigenous creatures scampering about. So far so good!

There is indigenous music coming over my speakers. The Lyrics sound kind of like this – “Objiwa Collo Bagoombo Alla mE ala woo ollo koo” – with a lot of drums accompanying it and syncopated beats. It will either totally put you in the mood for your safari or will drive you completely bonkers and make you want to plunge knitting needles into your eardrums. I just turned it a bit lower.

Holy Creepy Crawlers – Its a termite mound with lots and lots of – well actually I think they are ants but i suppose that was all they could find and close enough. They actually crawl around and an aardvark comes and licks them up. It is a bit mesmerising. I spent several minutes staring at this scene. They just keep on coming!

There are friendly elephants to ride around while listening to “Objiwa Collo Bagoombo Alla mE ala woo ollo koo” – OMG I have to turn this down more.

There is a great store called Cacao where you can get native clothing and accoutrements to feel right at home whilst listening to the maddening beats of my favourite song “Objiwa Collo Bagoombo Alla mE ala woo ollo koo” Then its off to the local village where people dwell in cylindrical domiciles and and cook around open fires whilst braiding one another’s hair.

This is the perfect place to come down with Dengue Fever! You can even rent one of the Cylinders to live in if you ever decide to go native. Oh, a new song is on – “Bosongo Onijawa Deyoo Anima Patitoo Bagumba.” Perfect to wash my clothes to. So many activities here in Nigeria!

And when your busy day is done you can just sack out and chill to the beat. I found this hammock next to the Nigerian Ocean to be perfect for lazing in the sun listening to music from Itunes. I can only handle so much “Bosongo Onijawa Deyoo Anima Patitoo Bagumba.”

I highly recommend an African Safari to all Ambrosians!

When I’m not working at Ambrosia, I love to discover new places in this magical world we call Second Life. Every single place is unique, like every person is unique, so there are a variety of places for every taste. I’m such a dreamer, so I usually look for places with beautiful sunsets, gardens and anything fairy that is impossible to find in Real Life. Earlier today, I discovered one of the most wonderful and unique sims I have ever been to. It’s called Chakryn Forest. It reminded me of walking through the set of the “Lord of the Rings”.

When you first land there, you will be presented with a fantastic forest with fireflies flying around you, waterfalls and hidden lakes. Later on you will find a book with riddles, so get ready for action. You have to solve them and then find the hidden stuff in the woods and caves. Don’t get scared of the huge eyeball who is following you. It’s just creepy, that’s all :)

Keep walking and climb on the mountains, but don’t be surprised or afraid if you suddenly fall down. Because i did, and suddenly found myself in a mysterious place. There were huge cuddles on the sea, animated frames, fire on the sky and a very small house for the “little ones” :) And then i couldn’t find the way out.

That was a great experience. You can become a member of the group “Impossible in Real Life” which is dedicated to finding, sharing and promoting well conceived and realized content which would not be possible in RL: architecture, landscaping, art, animations, fashion, building tools etc. I guess it’s worth it!
