More and more people are adopting mesh viewers in Second Life so that fewer people are making comments like, “Hey, did you know you are wearing a big green pickle like thing on your body?” Tha Big green pickle thing that they are seeing is actually a really chill hoody with a skull logo on it, but if you are still using a legacy viewer such as the old Phoenix, you will not be able to see all the badass mesh items that are available for sale and that people are starting to wear.
There are some bugs of course. Sometimes, even if you have a mesh viewer, you won’t be able to see all the detail because the level of detail is set to low. To correct this, you need to go into the advanced menu and select the debug menu. From there choose meshmaxConcurrentRequests and put the setting to 100. Supposedly, this will cause the mesh objects people are wearing and that are displayed around the grid to totally render thus eliminating the ghosting and invisibility problems that some people are currently experiencing with mesh. This setting is also persistent according to my source so you don’t have to set it each time you log in, which is a big bonus.
Make sure you go to the Yasum Designs store in the Ambrosia mall to check out some of Azlyn’s latest mesh creations for men and women. In the coming months, all of the Ambrosia retail partners will be rolling out mesh creations to make eveyrone’s second life a bit more awesome with levels of detail never before seen.
If you have not witnessed what is possible with mesh you are certainly missing out. Right now there are many free mesh items available so even if you are Linden Poor yo can still afford some free mesh items to try out. And then all your friends can complain that you are the one who is wearing the big green pickle.
