Prehistoric Creatures Rock

( Since this Post was written I have received reports that the Sim is now completely empty. I contacted the owner, Taylor Danick. She told me that she needed to take it down because it was not able to run properly since it was built on a Homestead Sim. “Please express my gratitude to all who came by and enjoyed it and my apologies at having to take it down,” she said. “I did not expect it to be so popular… I had too many visitors and it kept crashing”)

Time for another field trip. Let’s travel to a place that is featured in the Showcase called “Lost World” From the moment of arrival there was a strange sensation that this was going to be something different. And it certainly was. Just look at this stunning view. (After waiting 10 minutes for everything to rez of course! Either SL has been running like molasses on a January day in Alaska or its time to buy an new computer)

There are Pterodactyls, Flying Pterosaurs and the little bastard that spits acid at you running round. Poisonous snakes, huge spiders and a boulder-spewing volcano add to the element of pixel danger. Any savvy 5 year old could probably name all the dinos that are roaming around.

This is one dangerous sim!. After being bitten by a Snake and being devoured by a Tyrannosaurus Rex it was time for a refreshing dip in the scalding waters below the Volcano. What fun! The waterfalls are really breathtaking and you can even take a ride around on a giant dragon fly. There is so much to see and do that this is an easy hour or so of exploration. Don’t forget your camera! There are way too many Kodak moments here that you will cherish.

Whoever made all these creatures is really talented since the quality is quite amazing. From the turtles to all the critters that are flying and hopping around in search of delectable pixel treats, it’s obvious that someone put in a great deal of time and effort to make a quality experience for people to enjoy instead of the usual drek that SL is famous for.

This guy was one of my favourites.

You dont need a time machine to get to the Lost World. Just take the TP.

Here is the official Notecard you receive when you arrive in the SIM.

Welcome to Lost World! Here you will find adventure on a prehistoric scale!
Beware of avatar-eating critters and plants living in Lost World. If you are eaten by anything, remember to click your “stand up” button to be spit out. :-) You may also encounter biting snakes and head-snapping plants. So be careful where you sit. If the ground seems too dangerous, you may hitch a ride on one of our giant dragonflies. Ride them as you would any airplane in SL.
You will find a group campfire and seating arrangement near the volcanoes on the west end of the island where you can sit and relax with friends. But please watch out for shooting lava rocks, falling coconuts and other hazards. Set your world to sunset for a beautiful vista behind the volcanoes, or set it to midnight for relaxing conversation around the campfire.
Wear your caveman/cavegirl outfits for a back-to-nature experience. But please remember that even though our sim is rated Mature, we don’t want to see any public nudity, so please keep your bits and bobs covered.

I hope you enjoy your experience here. Please visit often.
Taylor Danick

Greeitngs Ambosians!

When is that last time you heard a musician that made you go wow? That stirred something inside you? Well, you are certainly in for a treat this Thursday at 4 PM when we present Maximillion Kleene Live on the Big Stage. Max, of course, is responsible for bringing the greatest number of people ever into the club and also had such distinguished audience members as M Linden, the current CEO of Linden Labs and the founder himself Phillip Linden!

So you have to do yourself a favour and head down pronto to hear the best act on the SL Grid. Max at 4 and two more amazing acts immediately following. Rapture Damone sings her way into your heart at 5 PM and Franklee Anatra finishes off at 6 PM. It’s going to be a great night for live music in SL!

See you There! XOX Roxy

New Music Mixmasters have joined the Ambrosia Family. The latest additions are from the UK and are going to knock your socks off with their mixes and clever banter. DJ SilverSpike debuted at 12 Noon SLT time today to a packed house of 40 and really wowed everyone with his silky voice and mix. Nothing but rave reviews for this entertainer who in his down time is a male dancer at a ladies only club! ” I like to think that I’m entertaining, and a crowd pleaser :) i get a high when the crowd is having a hot time,” according to Silver. “I have been at this for 2 years and I just love it!”

Dj Easy debuts at 4 am Tuesday SLT. According to Easy, “I am a cheeky Brit that will either rock your socks off or make you dance your ** off.” Choose the appropriate body part and insert. Since i have not heard him since his audition I cannot make a review at this time but my bet is that his show will more than surpass the level of excellence that Ambrosians deserve. Keep your eyes peeled for schedule changes as a whole new raft of Spinmeisters come aboard for the best ride in the virtual world.

Time for a Field Trip

With Ambrosia becoming busier with each day its fun to escape for a bit and randomly explore one of the other 25000 Sims in the world. Today’s random map search leads me to Little Kasiopaya Planets and Art labyrinth.

Upon arriving you find yourself on a platform 1151 Meters in the air. A quick zoom out reveals a series of balls interconnected with tubes. Hmmmm, A sim with balls; let’s investigate shall we.

A walk through the first tube reveals a shockingly beautiful interior. I was wowed by the colours. The universe slowly rotates around planet Earth as you are suspended above a black hole which threatens to suck you in. Holy Hallucinogens Batman!

Into the next tube – Who knows what awaits through the next portal? “Don’t walk into the light Carol Ann!” Good thing i have my Vodka and Club.

There are random pose balls everywhere inside each ball allowing you to meditate and engage in other activities.

The deeper you descend into the balls the more random it seems to get. Here i find a gigantic yacht complete with hot tubs and more.

If you get past the Rodeo and the inevitable shops and stores you will eventually reach Terra Firma where there is a beautiful little beach to relax at and more to explore. I spent over an hour and did not get to see it all. So I highly recommend a visit to this most interesting Sim.
