Well, It’s the start of another work week and the party is kicking off at Ambrosia. Actually the party never really starts or stops. It just goes on 24/7 lately. If you look at the calendar you will see that there are very few gaps in the schedule anymore. Poor Dj Radio is on the unemployment line.
Occasionally, RL steps in the way like when DJ Starlyt had to cancel her 6am shift due to dental work. Hard to talk with a mouth full of Novocaine. DJ Bethy came in with a friend and attempted to have him strip down to his camo underwear and dance in the middle of the floor but it was a no go. She will have to settle for shirtless on Cody Corvale.

Is Bethy breaking a sweat?
DJ Noiz came on at 10 am for his rockin’ set. Noiz loves to mix in popular tunes with some harder edged rock. A lot of DJs in the crowd for that set including the notorious Geemix who took the mix at Noon. Geemix’s set is something that every second Lifer should experience. He has a Scottish brogue that must be heard to be believed and the energy level of a 7-year-old hopped up on Red Bull. He always features cutting edge dance remixes of today’s music.
DJ Aditi pops on the mix at 2 PM. Crowd ebbs and flows like the tide. Aditi is a brand new dj here with a soft and sultry southern US voice and a really great mix of Popular music and mash ups. She has a gorgeous avatar that compliments her voice. I was noticing her outfit today and remarked that she was wearing more prims than on the entire club build. It certainly is a wow outfit to match a wow DJ.

I hate bots. Plain and simple. And I love to educate others on what they are. Many people are unaware that many of those green dots that appear on the map in a sim are not actually real people but owner created avatars that sit around and create a higher ranking in traffic for them. Is it legal or ethical? No, it is against the Terms of Service (TOS) of Linden Labs and cheating. Complaining to the Lindens about it it both pointless and fruitless so its much more productive to educate Ambrosians as to what to look for.

How much does this suck?
This is what people normally expect to see when there are campers and bots in a sim. The owner will set out a bunch of dance pads and then park his bots on top of them to lure in unsuspecting noobs. The Noob concludes that Second Life sucks and leaves the world to go play Scrabble.
That was a good example of a flagrant TOS violation but at least the owner made a public service by placing his bot Campers in obvious view so this cesspool of mediocrity can be avoided. But what if the owner is much more shrewd and cunning. Here we see a typical commercial island.

In this case the owner is selling shoes and accessories. It is a beautiful build filled with appears to be high quality items for sale. Typing the word “Music” into Search Places shows that this place has a traffic of 29998. For the same period Ambrosia has a traffic of 24575. Could it be from the kick-ass club that is adjacent to the shoe store? Highly unlikely!

Is this mic on?
How is it that a shoe store has higher traffic than a club? The answer is easy my friends. Freakin Bots!

I saw this science fiction movie...where humans were stored in closets.
But not just ordinary bots. No no. Here is the latest way around the unenforced Bot Fatwa. You put in a time clock and call your bots “models” and store them in closets in a sky box a few thousand meters up in the air. Voila, a legitimate use of bots that is not gaming traffic in anyway. After all, they are being paid right? BullS#$t!
The Bot Hunter confronted the owner of this Sim about her use of bots and was rewarded with a quick ejection and banning and a threat to report The Bot Hunter to the Lindens. Go ahead, make my day!

Time to check in to work. Best job in Sl!

You never know what the latest fun party prop will appear. Last week it was the impromptu “Noob Torch” party that was a hit. Everyone has one in their inventory apparently and the dance floor was suddenly lit up with the most basic of all SL fashion Accessories.

Sometimes, really fun items will appear at random. And that was certainly the case when DJ Bethany showed up with the pink ponies to hand out for everyone during DJ Aditi’s set.

Certainly phallic, most definitely pink...
This is certainly going to be the fashion accessory to be seen on this weekend in SL.

A virtual sea of Pink!
Stay tuned for more madness this weekend.

For almost 2 1/2 years Ambrosia Dance Club has operated under the radar. We have never used bots or campers to inflate our ratings. We have slowly built up the venue from a small lot on mainland to the island entertainment complex that we are today. And people took notice. We never had the traffic ratings numbers to match the “big” clubs. What we had to offer was a quality “you are there” night club experience. Hot quality DJs. The Best Live acts. Intriguing and friendly Dancers. A real Bartender.
And people started to notice. Our crowning achievement was when Linden Labs CEO M linden and Phillip Linden attended a Max Kleene show at the venue.
And today we get another piece of recognition. Lindens Labs has redesigned their web site. And featured on that website in Showcase is one club. Guess which one.
