The Ambrosia Dance Club. The name says it all. Its about dancing isn’t it? Since we have so many newcomers lately I thought it would be a good idea to go over the how to and etiquette of the club’s primary activity.
Generally its a simple matter to dance at Ambrosia since the dance floor is fully automated. When you step onto it you will be prompted with an invitation to animate your avatar. Say yes and you start dancing. Click the floor again and you are presented with a menu of a dozen dances from SL’s top choreographic animators to choose from.
If the dance floor is crowded it’s always a good idea to choose a dance that takes up less room.  If a person on the dance floor is doing a slower dance and you wish to dance with them its always a good idea not to choose something like “break dance.” Try to avoid dances that cause you to kick other people in the face unless you enjoy that sort of thing.
While dancing you should take care to adjust your position every so often so as not to dance through other avatars. A little careful tweaking with the arrow keys is all it takes to keep you in the correct position. Avoid holding down the arrow keys while dancing and pushing other avatars all over the floor.
Ambrosia was once littered with dozens of couples dance balls which were a simple sit and dance affair. Technology once more stepped in and the club now features an Intan couples dance machine. The operation is quite simple. You click on the machine anywhere you are in the club and two dance balls come to you. Click on them, animate your avatar, and then click the machine again to get a menu to choose from.
When using the couples dance machine one should try not to go AFK for long periods of time leaving your dance partner with an animated corpse. Its best to jump off the machine at that point and choose single dances. When your partner crashes it might be a good idea to jump off for a while and have a seat at the bar rather than do the default shuffle dance for several minutes with a pink or blue ball in your face that practically screams out lonely loser to anyone who arrives at the club in the interim.
Experienced veterans will own dance chimeras which are loaded with their very own dance selections. Usually they come with a clear prim placed around the avatar’s head or hind quarters. You can click on this prim and join the person in synced dance moves.  Its always polite to ask first before dancing on another person’s chimera. Once you have begun synced dance, line yourself up with the arrow keys to get the best effect.
Enjoy your night of dancing at the Ambrosia Dance club! If you have any questions about where to get the latest and greatest dances and chimeras ask one of the Ambrosia Dancers. Nothing beats advice from pros!
