So you think you can Dance?

Handy Tips No Comments »

The Ambrosia Dance Club.  The name says it all.  Its about dancing isn’t it?  Since we have so many newcomers lately I thought it would be a good idea to go over the how to and etiquette of the club’s primary activity.

It can be so confusing at times

Decisions, decisions

Generally its a simple matter to dance at Ambrosia since the dance floor is fully automated.  When you step onto it you will be prompted with an invitation to animate your avatar.  Say yes and you start dancing.  Click the floor again and you are presented with a menu of a dozen dances from SL’s top choreographic animators to choose from.

If the dance floor is crowded it’s always a good idea to choose a dance that takes up less room.   If a person on the dance floor is doing a slower dance and you wish to dance with them its always a good idea not to choose something like “break dance.”  Try to avoid dances that cause you to kick other people in the face unless you enjoy that sort of thing.

While dancing you should take  care to adjust your position every so often so as not to dance through other avatars.  A little careful tweaking with the arrow keys is all it takes to keep you in the correct position.  Avoid holding down the arrow keys while dancing and pushing other avatars all over the floor.

Ambrosia was once littered with dozens of couples dance balls which were a simple sit and dance affair. Technology once more stepped in and the club  now features an Intan couples dance machine.  The operation is quite simple.  You click on the machine anywhere you are in the club and two dance balls come to you.  Click on them, animate your avatar, and then click the machine again to get a menu to choose from.

When using the couples dance machine one should try not to go AFK for long periods of time leaving your dance partner with an animated corpse. Its best to jump off the machine at that point and choose single dances.  When your partner crashes it might be a good idea to jump off for a while and have a seat at the bar rather than do the default shuffle dance for several minutes with a pink or blue ball in your face that practically screams out lonely loser to anyone who arrives at the club in the interim.

Experienced veterans will own dance chimeras which are loaded with their very own dance selections. Usually they come with a clear prim placed around the avatar’s head or hind quarters. You can click on this prim and join the person in synced dance moves.   Its always polite to ask first before dancing on another person’s chimera.  Once you have begun synced dance, line yourself up with the arrow keys to get the best effect.

Enjoy your night of dancing at the Ambrosia Dance club! If you have any questions about where to get the latest and greatest dances and chimeras ask one of the Ambrosia Dancers.  Nothing beats advice from pros!

Seeing Double

Random Rants No Comments »

It’s fun to hang out at the club during non event hours just to see who will wander in. You never know who or what is going to materialize next in this world. Sometimes its a furry neko vampire sexbot dragon. Other times it is someone with a name like Skullcrusher Bones who is fully armed to the teeth with every sort of weapon imaginable. And then sometimes its a double vision apparition like this.

This strangely androgynous duo strode in and danced up a storm for several minutes without saying a word.  Presumably they were deep in the type of conversation that twins are likely to engage in.  It was tempting to ask if this was two actual people or one person controlling two avatars.  But alas they poofed out before this could be ascertained.

In a previous post I had described different types of Noobs,  but I forgot to mention one; the editing noob.  This one will just go into edit mode in the middle of the dance floor and take off all clothes no matter what is going on around them. In this case it did not really much matter since it was a slow day.  A lot of people in the US were busy trampling people to get bargains at Black Friday sales in real life.

I love seeing this girl at every one of Bosco Constantine’s gigs.  She has a great product at a bargain price.

Have a great Friday everyone!

This Weeks Parties

Events, News No Comments »

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Ambrosians who celebrate this holiday.  To those of you who don’t Happy Thursday!  It’s been a fun filled week of parties at the club and pictures have been coming in of all the events.  Here are some shots from the Green party.

Cody Corvale handed out these wonderful rave hand particle gloves to everyone which really added to the sickly green glow everywhere.  Not the best ambience  for the women’s complexions but a lot of fun nevertheless.

Weekday Market looking hot up on the big stage.  It’s been a good week with a ton of new people coming in  and we have added over 100 new Ambrosians to the group.

The next party was the  London Fog theme with DJ Eth Tedeschi.

Veronika Skinstad can always be counted on to have the correct costume for a theme however skimpy it may be.

An ethereal fog wafts across the dance floor, tendrils of wispy grayness enveloping the dancers swirling around their bodies and caressing them with its chill embrace.  Yay cheesy particle fog effects!

Angel Skin and Shapes joins 28 other designers in the Ambrosia Fashion DIstrict with a hot line of, you guessed it, skins and shapes.  The pictures speak for themselves.

Sarissa Oh has created a line of skins that are simply amazing.  Anatomically, they are close to perfection with rippling abs and shading.  High detail in the faces will make you beautiful indeed to behold.  Check out the displays on your next visit to Ambrosia and make a new you!
